City of Industry, Calif.-based Dacor has released what the company calls the world’s first smart professional cooking range.

“With the Discovery iQ 48-in. dual-fuel range, we are utilizing smart technology to empower the passionate cook,” said company president Steve Joseph. “The new range combines the cooking precision our customers have enjoyed for nearly 50 years with a first-of-its-kind cooking app and iQ controller, providing a convenient, connected cooking experience.”

The iQ Controller is a new control panel that integrates a wirelessly connected tablet, which allows home owners to watch cooking tutorials, download recipes and access expert advice from the screen. It also permits owners to control the unit via a smartphone or tablet.

Additional highlights include soft-close door hinges that prevent doors from slamming, 14-in. continuous grates and GreenClean steaming technology. It also comes pre-programmed with cooking recipes and two ovens.
